The Governing Board recessed to closed session at 7:25 p.m. to complete discussion of student expulsion recommendations and returned to open session at 7:30 p.m. In open session the board approved two expulsions as moved by Trustee Felipe Martinez and seconded by Trustee Rudy Ruiz.
The first involved a Monache High School student: expulsion for the remainder of the Spring 2025–26 semester and the Fall 2026–27 semester, transfer to Vine Community Day School with a review at the end of the Spring 2026 semester for possible return under a Suspended Expulsion Contract. The second was a Bartlett Middle School student: in lieu of an expulsion hearing, a Stipulated Expulsion Agreement was signed; expulsion is suspended while the student attends the PASS program with a potential return to mainstream school under a Suspended Expulsion Contract through Fall 2026–27. Both motions carried with all seven trustees voting aye.
