Dan Klein was unanimously elected vice chair of the Tompkins County Legislature for 2016.
Will Burbank nominated Klein and Julie Kiefer seconded the nomination. After closing nominations, the legislature voted and the motion carried unanimously. Klein said he would work on behalf of residents in his district (Caroline and Danby) and pledged to live up to expectations: "I just want to do a good job for the residents of Tompkins County and for the residents of my district," he said.
Members who spoke in favor cited Klein’s committee experience, including leadership of the Government Operations Committee and service on multiple committees and local boards.
