New Dorset Town Office nearly finished; board approves pay request and schedules move

The Select Board approved Pay Request No. 13 for the new Town Office project on Aug. 19 as construction nears completion.
Town Manager Rob Gaiotti said the building is “over 98% completion point!” and that punch-list items should finish next week so the town can receive its certificate of occupancy. Staff plan to shut the offices Aug. 28–29 for moving and begin operating out of the new Town Offices on Sept. 2. The Board discussed and tentatively scheduled a ribbon-cutting and public tours for Sept. 16 at 6:00 p.m.
With the approved Pay Request No. 13, the minutes show the construction total at $3,002,506 against an original construction budget of $3,297,932; staff indicated they tentatively expect to come in under that budget, subject to remaining contingency needs for paving and other items. The Board voted to approve the Pay Request (motion moved by Henry Chandler, seconded by Jim Salsgiver); the motion passed 4–0.
What happens next: staff will complete final punch-list items, obtain the CO, conduct the scheduled move, and confirm ribbon-cutting logistics with the Board.
