Story County supervisors approved reclassifying a vacant Computer Support Specialist position to a Cybersecurity Analyst on Jan. 27.
Colin Gerst, Information Technology Director, asked the Board to re-evaluate the vacant position to address cybersecurity and risk-management needs, stating the cost of the reclassification is "approximately $26,500.00 per year." Supervisor Lisa Heddens moved and Supervisor Latifah Faisal seconded the reclassification; the motion passed unanimously on a roll call vote. The IT Department will proceed with hiring and update the Board on budget implications as staffing actions proceed.
