Resident urges action on Route 30 speeding; town plans speed studies and added enforcement

Cliff McKinney, a property owner on Route 30, told the board at public comment that speeding and noise in the area north of the Village are a significant local problem and urged more action.
Town staff reported the town is conducting speed studies on Route 30 at the town line with Rupert and at the town line with Manchester, with the plan to seek permits to install one radar unit at each location. Town Manager Rob Gaiotti said the Sheriff will also focus enforcement on speed control in that area. Later in the meeting staff reiterated that the Sheriff has increased patrols in response to citizen requests and the town is awaiting the speed-study results to support applications for additional speed signs.
