Town Manager Rob Gaiotti reviewed the town's draft FY27 capital projects and the initial operating-budget projection at the Nov. 18 Select Board meeting.
Gaiotti outlined a capital list that includes funding for Bridge 27 (Lower Hollow Road) bridge work, paving, traffic-calming design for Route 7, Prentiss Pond dam design and additional sinking-fund money for improvements to the DPW red shed in East Dorset. Staff said general budget expense is up about 7% in the draft and that this would translate to an estimated 5–6% increase in property taxes if the draft is adopted. The board will review the draft again in December and prepare to warn the budget for a January public hearing and Town Meeting.
