Resident urges council to support saving 990 acres north of Cumberland

"We're talking about saving the 990 acres just North of Cumberland where Lizard Mountain is," Linda Stevens said during public comment, recounting personal experience hiking and horseback riding in the area and warning that large projects could threaten wells and river access.
Stevens said residents have discussed the possibility that the county or state might participate in acquiring or protecting the land and asked the council to consider support or to stay engaged as the matter develops.
