Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation reports school mental‑health reach, senior‑meal operations

The Rainier Foothills Wellness Foundation told the Eden Plus City Council it has expanded school-based mental-health services and continues to operate a home-delivered senior meal program.
"We have served a total of 82 students — 62 at Enumclaw High School, 9 at Enumclaw Middle School and 11 at Thunder Mountain," Tammy Verhus, the foundation's interim executive director, said, adding that six high‑school students have "graduated from therapy." Verhus also said the program has produced a slight average GPA increase among the 25–26 students referenced.
Verhus described the senior meals program as well established: she reported the foundation serves 66 seniors and prepares about 400 meals per week with roughly 87 volunteers and three delivery days a week. "There's about 400 meals prepared from scratch each week, and it is an all day — it's an all day thing," she said.
Council members thanked the presenter and the council moved on to other business. The foundation left contact guidance with the clerk for follow-up questions and offered to provide additional program data on request.
