Sam Solaris took the oath of office as mayor of the City of Montrose at the council's Jan. 13 meeting, pledging to “faithfully, justly and impartially discharge the duties of the office of mayor.” Colleagues congratulated Solaris immediately after the administration of the oath.
The council also administered oaths to newly seated council members. Following the ceremonial swearing-in, the assembly recited the Pledge of Allegiance and moved on to the evening’s business, including approvals of the agenda and consent agenda. There were no objections recorded during the roll call votes that followed.
