City reports pool startup and construction progress; mayor says city attorney will continue after firm change

City Administrator Matt Hammer told the council on May 4 that construction work around town is moving along and that WMS will be on site Wednesday to fire up the pool and confirm systems are running for the season.
Hammer said public works staff are balancing construction tasks with their regular duties. Finance staff Amanda Link and Pool Manager Janni Burt are coordinating seasonal hiring; Burt and Hammer reported interviewing 15 lifeguard applicants.
In his report, Mayor Retzer informed the council that City Attorney Hannah Kimball is changing firms but will continue to serve as the city attorney through her new firm. Retzer asked for patience as the council and staff navigate construction and related workload pressures. The meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m.
