Mel Harmon, outreach manager and member of the youth team at Rivers of Hope, presented the nonprofit's services to the Montrose City Council and urged the city to publicize the agency's free resources. "Our mission at Rivers of Hope is to provide a community coordinated response to end family violence through advocacy, education, and interagency collaboration," Harmon said.
Harmon provided local and regional statistics, saying Rivers of Hope served 13 adults and five youth in Montrose in 2023 and that, since Jan. 1, in Wright and Sherburne counties combined they have served 306 adults and 126 youth. She asked the council to help spread the word about services, leave flyers, and support upcoming fundraising events. Council members thanked her and said they would place materials at a city table and promote the resource.
