Board hears updates on drainage fixes, MFT schedule and Saturn Terrace work

Public Property and Public Works committees reported a temporary fix to standing water on Torrington, confirmed Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) work scheduled July 18–19 with a July 21 rain date, and said Saturn Terrace repairs will resume after oil-and-chip work is complete.
Trustee Ramon Matchett, Jr. and Public Works Director Chris Remick updated the board on drainage and street maintenance. Remick said crews implemented a solution for standing water on Torrington that appears to be working; Village Engineer Tim Pruett noted the problem has existed since the subdivision was built and a work order will be submitted to study a resident drainage complaint.
Remick said MFT work is scheduled for July 18–19 with July 21 as a rain date. Saturn Terrace work is on hold until crews complete oil-and-chip preparations. Trustee Matchett also reminded trustees about the Illinois Municipal League (IML) conference scheduled Sept. 17–19, 2026 and asked trustees to inform the administrator if they plan to attend.
