The Neodesha Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 1827 on Dec. 10, 2025, incorporating by reference the "Standard Traffic Ordinance for Kansas Cities," 2025 edition, with specified local omissions and changes. City Administrator Jones presented the ordinance, and Commissioner Banzet moved to approve the ordinance as presented; Commissioner Truelove seconded and the motion carried.
The ordinance establishes a schedule of penalties (a minimum fine of $10 and a maximum fine of $1,200 for traffic infractions or other traffic offenses where fines are set by the municipal judge), and sets maximum speed limits including 20 mph in business districts, 25 mph in residential districts and specified 20–45 mph limits on segments of U.S. Highway 75. It also defines school-zone hours and lists the streets treated as school zones within city limits. The ordinance repeals Ordinance No. 1806 and takes effect upon publication in the official city newspaper. "Commissioner Banzet moved to approve Ordinance 1827 as presented," the record shows.
