Council approves minutes, excuses absentees and passes bills and claims

At the start of the May 18 meeting Mayor Jim Retzer called roll and the council voted to excuse Councilmembers Sevedge and Huntwork. "A motion was entered by Golden, seconded by Schaefer to excuse Sevedge and Huntwork," the record shows; the roll call result was recorded as all yes.
The council also moved to approve the minutes from the May 4 meeting and to approve bills and claims. "A motion was entered by Golden, seconded by Mackleit to approve the minutes from the May 4, 2026 Council meeting. Roll Call: All Yes." The meeting record lists payroll #11741, 11748-11775 and EFT #11742-11747 with a payroll subtotal of $1,343,815.18, payroll of $69,036.79 and a GRAND TOTAL of $1,412,851.97; councilmember Schaefer moved and Mackleit seconded the claims motion, which passed on roll call.
