The board determined the climbing wall was not feasible and approved spending an estimated $67,000 on shade structures and a basketball hoop, leaving approximately $13,000 for deckside furniture.
"There was approximately $80,000 available to spend," Golden reported. The pool opened for the season last week with lifeguard training ongoing at the Hospital Therapy Pool; June 5 is listed as the opening day and a grand opening is scheduled for July 11. The board also approved a proposal from a Colfax High School senior to paint sea creatures on pool walls.
