Dennis Carr, the City of Washington engineer, said the first step for residents with traffic concerns is to complete a standardized survey form on the engineering page of the city's website. "So the new process starts with filling out a standardized survey form that you can find on the website on the engineering page," Carr said, and he said submissions will be entered into the city's GIS system for staff to review.
Carr described that once a submission is in GIS it will be routed to engineering staff (including himself) to identify the area of concern and determine the next steps. He advised residents to be prepared to engage neighbors and participate in the follow-up so the city can assess whether a broader neighborhood concern exists.
