Director of Human Resources Christal Martinez presented local teaching assignment options under Title 5, section 80020.4, and the board approved assignments for CaSaundra Underwood (Teacher on Special Assignment—Induction Program Support Provider) and Martha Sosa (Teacher on Special Assignment—Technology) for 2026–27.
In closed session the board considered public employment matters and returned to open session to approve item 7.2 (public employee appointments) and item 7.3 (public employee discipline/dismissal/release) by motion; the board reported no reportable action on anticipated or existing litigation. Superintendent Annette Blacklock and CBO Dr. Xavier Tavorn also updated trustees on testing preparations, enrollment (2,409 students reported) and facilities progress; Tavorn cited a tentative Sequoia ribbon-cutting date of May 7.
