Board approves work truck and Sequoia TK/K classroom furnishings; adopts OPSC representative resolution

Chief Business Official Dr. Xavier Tavorn and Director of MOT John Yanez presented a set of facilities and finance items on May 11. The Board approved acquisition of a MOT work truck for $41,369.91 funded through the Plant Maintenance and Operations budget and approved classroom furnishings for four kindergarten and two transitional kindergarten classrooms at Sequoia Elementary costing $98,106.72; Tavorn said the TK/K purchase is offset by anticipated construction reimbursement of approximately $1.5 million.
Dr. Tavorn also presented required Education Code 42141 disclosures about workers' compensation financial status as an informational item and recommended adoption of Board Resolution 2026-08 to name Xavier Tavorn and John Yanez as district representatives authorized to sign and submit documents to the Office of Public School Construction. The Board adopted the resolution unanimously; Dr. Tavorn said the authorization "supports timely processing, procedural compliance, and coordination with OPSC, DSA, and other agencies."
