Board approves Title I policy, school plans and several instructional and communications renewals
Summary
Trustees approved the district Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy, 2026-27 School Plans for Student Achievement, and renewals/agreements for i-Ready ($124,206), Aeries SIS ($35,171.60), and ParentSquare ($17,508.40); MOUs with Point Loma Nazarene University and an Arts Council partnership were also approved.
Assistant Superintendent Elia R. Sagasta and Director of Curriculum and Instruction Ivonne Hernandez presented several instructional policy approvals and vendor renewals that the Board approved on May 11.
Sagasta said the Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy was developed jointly with parents and the Richland Parent Advisory Committee and complies with ESSA requirements. The Board approved the Title I policy and the 2026–27 School Plans for Student Achievement for Golden Oak, Redwood, Richland Junior High, and Sequoia Elementary.
Hernandez outlined vendor renewals and MOUs: i-Ready renewal funded through Title I ($124,206), Aeries Student Information System renewal ($35,171.60, General Fund), ParentSquare communication renewal ($17,508.40, LCAP Supplemental & Concentration), and multiple MOUs with Point Loma Nazarene University to support fieldwork, student teaching and internship placements. The Board approved each item by unanimous vote.
