Matthew LeBlanc, who presented the district's annual communications report, said staff launched a community rebranding process this year that included a community survey and focus groups and will inform refreshed district messaging.
LeBlanc described new outreach to families who left EMS ISD and ongoing tools such as pulse surveys and the "Let's Talk" platform. He highlighted social-media reach as an engagement marker: "we had over 8,000,000 views on what we posted over the past year," and said 51% of engagements are from people who do not follow the district, a metric the department wants to keep above 50%.
The report included operational figures: 163 Public Information Act requests processed (up about 40 from the prior year) and roughly 2,700 flyers distributed through Peachjar with an open rate the presenter said is about 58%. LeBlanc said the communications team will phase out stock photography and replace it with district photos over time to reflect students and staff.
Board members asked whether the team can track which pages on the website users visit; LeBlanc said the district can and uses that data to test page designs. The board offered thanks and recognition for the communications team's work.
