The Cambria Community Services District presented its 3rd quarter (3rd .25) budget report for fiscal year 2025‑26 at the May 14 meeting, reporting year‑to‑date fiscal activity through March 31, 2026 and identifying planned deficits tied to capital projects and timing of revenues.
Finance Manager Fritz said the general fund is showing an approximate deficit of $1.6 million, with $1.1 million attributable to a fire engine purchase that was covered by a grant but will be reimbursed later. She attributed other deficits to incomplete property tax allocations that the county will reconcile in the fourth quarter. The water and WRF capital projects (including Stewart Street tanks) were highlighted as drivers of planned capital spending; Fritz pointed to page 121 of the packet for project‑by‑project spending where the project‑to‑date total for one item was $175,139 with $22,309 spent in the fiscal year so far.
Board members noted earlier finance committee review and asked clarifying questions about department summaries, a grant from the Highway Tourism Alliance ($60,000), and details of capital project accounting. Director Scott thanked staff for including supporting documents such as debt listings. The board moved and approved the 3rd quarter report by roll call (unanimous).
The report will be used in upcoming finance committee and budget planning sessions for FY26‑27.
