The Planning & Zoning Commission reviewed a site plan submitted by Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church for property at 729 Gluckstadt Road and voted unanimously Feb. 24 to recommend approval to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen with required revisions. Caine Dearman told Commissioners the Planning & Zoning Department reviewed the plan and that the City "will work with the church on the landscape plan. They will need additional trees and also need a revision to parking space widths." The motion to recommend approval with those conditions passed without recorded opposition.
Commissioners also discussed details of the dumpster area and required screening and surfacing; the Commission's recommendation conditions final approval on those site-plan adjustments. Staff is tasked with verifying the revised landscaping, dumpster screening and parking-width corrections before the Mayor and Board of Aldermen consider the site plan.
