Comal County commissioners approved a construction agreement with the Trevino Group on Aug. 22 to build an ARPA-funded mental health extended observation unit and crisis residential unit on county property.
County staff told the court the Trevino Group was selected after a competitive CSP process and contract negotiations were completed; staff recommended approval and asked the court to authorize the county judge to sign the agreement. Staff described the facility site and said construction is ready to begin. The court moved, seconded and approved the agreement.
County staff characterized the facility as an American Rescue Plan Act project intended to provide an extended observation/crisis residential unit to expand local behavioral-health capacity. The project will proceed through the contract administration process with standard county oversight.
