Comal County Tax Office to add passport acceptance office in Bulverde

The court approved Resolution 202410 to add a passport acceptance office at the Comal County Tax Office'9s Bulverde location and adopt the FY 2024–25 office fees required by the US Department of State. Kristen Hoyt, the Tax Assessor-Collector, said passport processing in New Braunfels has been busy and the additional Bulverde office will use the same trained staff and a separate account to track revenue.
"It's going really well," Hoyt said of passport operations in New Braunfels, and she told commissioners she hopes Bulverde will eventually offer walk-in service in addition to appointments. The court voted to authorize the new office and associated fees; Hoyt said she expects some passport business will shift from New Braunfels to Bulverde and that future expansion (for example at Canyon Lake) depends on facility window capacity.
