Calumet reports DPW superintendent vacancy; part-time seasonal hire to assist greenspace

The Calumet Village Department of Public Works remains without a superintendent, Manager Megan Haselden said at the June 10 work session, and she praised the existing DPW crew for their work. Haselden said the Village has filled a part-time seasonal DPW position; the new hire has landscaping and garden experience and will support maintenance of the new Greenspace.
Haselden said a contractor is scheduled to do line striping in July but will not restripe Oak Street or the Agassiz Park parking lot because current lines need to fade further. She also said she has asked the Houghton County Road Commission to paint the lines on 6th Street and 4th Street. The Village will again use a SAIL team this summer for landscaping and clean-up work.
