Organizers preview second annual Hoosick River Run, add half-marathon route

Nancy Bullock, speaking for Hoosick River Revival, briefed the council on plans for the second annual Hoosick River Run on Sept. 19, 2026, describing a one-mile walk, a 5K, and a new half-marathon (0.5 marathon) route that passes through parts of North Adams and briefly into Williamstown. Bullock said the route was designed to minimize street crossings and to highlight city views and the MASS MoCA campus.
"This is a 2nd annual event. We held a race last year ... we were able to get almost a 100 participants last year," Bullock said, and she explained safety measures including route signage, a single street crossing on Upper Main Street for race safety, and volunteer staffing needs. Organizers provided QR-coded flyers for registration and donations and asked the council and public to help recruit sponsors and volunteers.
