Resident urges enforcement after occupied seasonal camp reported without septic or running water

John Soininen, a resident who addressed the Select Board during public comment, said a seasonal camp on Wood Hill Road was being occupied without septic or running water and that the property around it 'is a mess.' He told the board: 'we do have a junk ordinance and wondered why it is not being enforced.'
Soininen also reported a recreational vehicle parked close to the roadway and questioned whether a prior subdivision required the property to be brought into compliance with septic and water requirements. Highway Foreman Shane Heath and other board members noted related concerns, including a junk car on Sheffield Road. Town Clerk/Treasurer Patti McClure said zoning administrator Joe Witt was aware of the matters but it was unclear whether he had inspected the site. The board directed that Joe Witt be contacted; board members said citations will follow if the administration cannot secure compliance.
