Proponent notifies MAC of citizen-led petition to form Oak Park Community Services District; LAFCo invited to present in January

The MAC received written notice that a citizen-led petition is being prepared to form an Oak Park Community Services District and to consider detachment of certain parks, open spaces and services from the Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District.
Brian Trushinski read the letter submitted by Mark Perryman, who said his committee will submit petition materials to Ventura County LAFCo and Ventura County Elections for review and processing in the coming weeks. "Mr. Perryman stated that in two years, there will be no more funding in the Oak Park CSA 4 Reserve Fund," the transcript records, raising concerns about future service levels and budget impacts.
Supervisor Jeff Gorell’s office invited the Executive Director of LAFCo and Public Works to present at the January MAC meeting so residents can hear directly about how special districts function and how service delivery might change. MAC members asked that the petition materials be posted to the meeting minutes and Supervisor Gorell’s Oak Park MAC website prior to the presentation.
