A majority of Hillsborough County commissioners voted to adopt the fiscal year 2027 solid waste rate resolution, which includes an annual increase of $22 per unit for single-family residential customers who receive both solid waste collection and disposal services, county communications said.
Katie said the increase is intended to maintain current service levels, cover rising operating costs and fund capital projects necessary for safety. The new rates were announced to take effect in October.
The county also approved a draft ordinance (separately discussed) that clarifies senior citizen discount eligibility for the solid waste non-ad valorem disposal assessment.
