Sperry approves up to $500 to send municipal judge to state conference; minutes flag continuing-education rule

At its April 10 meeting, the Sperry Board of Trustees voted to pay up to $500 for Municipal Judge Brad Baker to attend the 2025 Oklahoma Municipal Judges Association conference. The motion was made by Mayor Robert Morton and seconded by Melody Anderson and passed unanimously (5–0).
The minutes record an additional compliance note: as of July 1, 2026, if the municipal judge has not completed 12 hours of required continuing education, the municipality will be limited to a maximum fine of $50 for any charge, traffic or criminal. The minutes do not specify how the town will track or enforce continuing-education completion or whether the $500 payment is conditional on attendance or completion.
