Robert Morton was nominated and unanimously approved by the Sperry Board of Trustees as mayor for a two-year term during the board’s May 8, 2025 meeting. The vote followed a motion by Trustee Patrick McCotter and a second from Vice‑Mayor Melody Anderson; the board recorded a 5-0 yea vote.
In the same motion sequence, the board named Melody Anderson vice‑mayor for a two-year term after Morton moved and McCotter seconded her nomination. No other nominations were offered. The reappointments came at the start of the meeting, which Mayor Morton called to order at 6:30 p.m. and where the board confirmed a full quorum of five trustees.
