Sperry approves wildland firefighting gear, grant applications and emergency-light purchases

The Sperry Board of Trustees approved multiple fire-department actions on Feb. 13: purchase of 20 sets of wildland gear (coat, pants and suspenders) with the purchase not to exceed $10,553.95 using $8,568.92 from an 80/20 REAP grant; authorization to apply for a forestry grant and, if awarded, request approval to purchase one skid unit (water tank and pump) with bids listed; and approval to apply for a Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative grant for helmet lights.
The board also approved purchase of three 48-inch LED rooftop emergency strobe light bars and two sirens from Xprite for a total of $852.55, to be paid from the 0.6% sales tax savings account. Recorded vendor bid comparisons and amounts are included in the minutes for each purchase decision.
