Sperry approves public-safety purchases and fire-department business account

At the June 12 meeting the board approved multiple public-safety procurements for the police and fire departments.
Under the Police Department (Nick Mahoney), the board authorized using remaining FY24'25 funds to pay for a vehicle rewire ($10,000), Tasers annual subscription ($2,200), six Axon body cameras ($4,400), ammunition ($1,000), mobile e-citation printers ($3,805.20), four shotguns ($3,200), and four computers ($5,140). The motion to approve these purchases passed unanimously.
For the Fire Department (Brad Dean), trustees authorized setting up a business account with MHC Kenworth'Tulsa for department purchases (purchase orders required; purchases over $100 must be approved by the board). The board also approved purchasing 24 rechargeable flashlights at $49.99 each and 20 rechargeable LED headlamps (packs of two at $19.19) for a total cost of $1,391.66 to be paid from the Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative 2025 rural fire department grant; the town manager will inspect samples before completing the full order.
