Separately, the court approved the purchase of six SIP trunks for the sheriff’s dispatch (virtual phone lines required for an upcoming 9‑1‑1 vendor upgrade) and authorized the judge to execute necessary documents. The court also approved a multi‑use agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation to permit placement of plate‑reader cameras on state rights‑of‑way to support auto‑theft alerts and other law‑enforcement uses; the sheriff will administer that agreement. All motions related to the sheriff’s equipment, the SIP trunks and the plate‑reader agreement passed 5–0.
