The chair explained that state guidance changed how telecom companies may pursue grievances and that the tax department directed listers to deny the grievance at the local level. The chair said the state produced a "stipulation regarding appeal to the board of civil authority," and the town's tax representative and town attorney reviewed the stipulations. "So it sounds like we're just looking to get that signed just to kind of keep the ball moving," the chair said. The board moved, seconded and approved signing both stipulations for Vermont Telecom Wireless.
Board members discussed whether a single signature or all board members' signatures would be preferable; the chair said either approach would work and that the board would sign after the meeting and return the documents to the listers.
