Andy Norman presented a tree inventory and management plan to the Nashville Town Council at its Jan. 15 meeting.
"The Management Plan is based on a 2025 inventory of 428 public trees representing sixty species," Norman said, and he outlined management recommendations that prioritize public safety, invasive species control, systematic pruning, targeted Plant Health Care (PHC), and the preservation of high‑value canopy assets. He told the Council the plan’s objectives include reducing risks to pedestrians and motorists, allocating limited municipal resources efficiently, and extending the service life of mature trees through proactive care.
Council members asked questions about priorities and implementation; the Council thanked Mr. Norman for his presentation. Town Manager Sandie Jones and Chief Administrative Officer Phyllis Carr later described related Tree Board actions involving removal and replanting of invasive specimens.
