Commissioners at the North Miami Beach summer-camp show announced a slate of community services aimed at families preparing for the school year.
Fortuna Smuckler told the audience the city is “having a back to school school supply hair health fair and celebration of national night out,” and urged North Miami Beach residents to register children to receive free supplies and services. Commissioner Lynn Sue said the UMC free clinic will provide free medication and checkups at the event, noting that services are available to residents and non-residents who attend.
Officials said the fair will run from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 4 and reiterated that the city is providing multiple free supports — both health services and school supplies — as part of broader summer programming.
