The Board approved a formal procurement from the Imperial County School Food Service Cooperative during the June 22 meeting. Chief Business Official Rosa Medina presented the item and the motion to approve passed on a roll call vote recorded in the minutes as 7 ayes.
Separately, the Board discussed the DSA Statement of Final Actual Project Cost for recent field-lighting projects and the recommendation to encumber KIT Fund projects by the fiscal deadline. Staff described the DSA statement as a formality and indicated a decrease in final project costs; Trustee Michael Fong asked to table the DSA item for clarification and Trustee Raul Navarro moved to table. Similarly, the KIT Fund encumbrance discussion included ideas such as purchasing a QuickCafe for BYMS breakfast service, but trustees ultimately voted to table the encumbrance item for follow-up because trustees wanted additional information, including participation numbers and price confirmations.
Staff indicated they would return the tabled items to the Board with clarifying documentation and pricing verification.
