The council voted to table a presentation from representatives of VYVE Broadband to the Aug. 4, 2025 meeting so staff could gather figures comparing the city's current payments to Nobel and VYVE's proposed terms. The motion to table was made by Jeff Roberts and seconded by Joe Church and passed unanimously on roll call.
During the discussion Councilmember Frank Groom stated that he had "3 dealings with VYVE and they are not good," cautioning colleagues about the company's track record. City Clerk Sabrina Mounce asked for more time to assemble financial figures and comparisons before the city hears the VYVE presentation.
