On March 9 the Calipatria Unified School District Board of Trustees adopted a revision to Board Policy 7310 (Naming of Facility) and approved the policy's Naming of Facility form as an exhibit. Trustees also approved opening nominations for naming the Calipatria High School softball field for a 30‑day public period.
Trustee Frank Perez said nomination materials are ready to be shared with the public and outlined the process established by the revised policy. Minutes record that trustees "agreed to only post for 30 days" and that the policy will be amended by Trustee Perez. The motion to adopt the policy and the exhibit passed by roll call (7 ayes), and the nominations period was opened immediately.
The policy sets out the procedure for public nominations and documentation for facility dedications; staff will post nomination information for the specified 30‑day window.
