Calipatria High honors CIF 5AA girls basketball champions; pep rally set for April 1

Calipatria Unified School District trustees opened their March 9 meeting by recognizing the Calipatria High School varsity girls basketball team for winning the CIF Division 5AA championship.
Athletic Director Ted Hughes told the board the district will host a celebration: "we will have a district/community pep rally to celebrate the girl's basketball team at 9:00am on Thursday," and he reminded trustees that the Winter Sports Banquet is scheduled for April 1, 2026. The recognition was presented during the meeting's opening special-recognition segment.
The recognition required no formal vote. The board separately approved routine business that will affect student activities budgets and scheduling throughout the spring.
