Commission recommends license action after analyst admitted falsifying degree on CV

Staff presented the final investigative report and disclosure (item 26.18) related to an analyst at SWIFT who falsely represented that she had a master's degree on a CV submitted to lab management. The analyst resigned in February 2026 after the lab confronted discrepancies and did not provide requested transcripts; staff concluded the misrepresentation implicated professional responsibility standards and recommended revocation of the license through its expiration date (09/07/2027).

Staff summarized the finding and the recommended disposition: the analyst made repeated misrepresentations to management and to peers during mock‑trial training and did not timely disclose an Office of Inspector General administrative finding to subsequent employers. "...the act of falsifying a job related educational credential would call into question her integrity as well as the integrity of the forensic analysis," staff said when explaining the recommended sanction of revocation through the license expiration. Commissioners voted to accept the investigative report and the associated recommended discipline.

Why it matters: deliberate falsification of credentials can undermine confidence in testimony and forensic practice and is expressly covered by the commission’s code of professional responsibility. The commission also instructed staff to follow up with the relevant university program as a courtesy and for completeness in the final report.
