Heath Dobrevni, deputy manager for the village, updated the advisory board on several village properties and reported ongoing work at 603 Meacham. He said curb and gutter work is nearly complete (about 95%) but that groundwater is rising in crawl spaces on some lots where fill was used. "We identified 5 homes, here last week after we had some pretty good rain," he said, describing the affected lots as those built up on fill and noting the village may need geotechnical sampling and additional dirt work before occupancy.
Dobrevni said crews from General Hydronics, Laluis Paving and HomeSpot were on site digging to assess foundation floodproofing and that HomeSpot had been the seller/installer of the homes. He cautioned that moving families into units before mitigation could leave residents exposed to problems and said staff are balancing the need to keep contractors engaged with the risk that stopping work would delay completion into colder weather.
