The Barry County Board approved a contract with 46 Entertainment and an addendum with Peachtree Entertainment to supply county services — including 911, Sheriff and Emergency Management coverage — for the Rock the Country event scheduled Aug. 8–9, 2026 at the Barry County Expo Center. The motion (moved by Mike Callton and seconded by Bruce Campbell) passed unanimously among members present; one member was absent.
Commissioner Jon Smelker later reported Central Dispatch approved the contract at its meeting. Commissioner Smelker and Commissioner Callton also discussed transit logistics for the event, including whether Barry County Transit could provide shuttle service and the ability of the event site to accommodate large buses; Sheriff Leaf said he did not anticipate issues.
