Parowan delays presentation of new sign code until next meeting

A draft update to Parowan’s sign code was not presented on July 1 after City Manager Dan Jessen said he was delayed returning from a conference in Boston and could not deliver the drafted ordinance language. Jessen told the Commission substantive decisions on the code had already been made, and staff intended to draft the written code and present it for review with the goal of scheduling a public hearing.
Jamie Bonnett moved to table the item to the next regular meeting; Jerry Vesely seconded and the motion carried unanimously. No substantive public comment or debate on the sign-code content occurred at the July 1 meeting because the item was not presented. Staff will bring the drafted code and a proposed public-hearing schedule to a future meeting.
