Parowan approves real estate purchase contract negotiation using corridor preservation funds for parcel A-0033-0001-0000

He said acquisition would proceed only if mutually acceptable terms were reached based on an independent appraisal, that the county auditor was prepared to issue payment on approval, and that any remainder parcel after dedication would be marketed with proceeds returned to the corridor preservation fund.
Council discussion confirmed there would be no direct out‑of‑pocket expense to Parowan for the acquisition beyond minor surveying costs that staff expects to recoup when the remainder parcel is sold. John Dean moved to approve entering into a voluntary real estate purchase contract; Lyle Barton seconded and the motion carried unanimously. Staff will negotiate the REPC and return final terms to the council for execution.
