Designer Tom Trefaro told the board the proposal is to build a second‑story deck over an existing deck, keeping the same footprint and not enclosing the space. He said the deck provides a second means of egress from an upstairs loft and that adjacent houses have similar decks.
Board members confirmed the decks would remain open, non‑habitable and without plumbing or heating; one board member also asked about the posted notice sign (the applicant said a paper sign blew down in a storm). The board voted to approve application 26133 with those conditions and the applicant was told to obtain required permits from the building department before construction begins.
