Counsel reiterates Corkscrew Road ownership position; Pelican Sound to lead town-hall review

District counsel said his opinion on ownership of Corkscrew Road (west of U.S. 41) has not changed; the Village of Estero engaged Johnson Engineering for a street/walkway inspection and Pelican Sound will hold a Town Hall focusing on the U.S. 41/Corkscrew intersection.
District counsel Tony Pires told the board that, after reviewing his documents, his opinion regarding ownership of Corkscrew Road (west of U.S. 41) remains unchanged. Mr. Schultz reported that the Village of Estero retained Johnson Engineering to inspect streets, walkways and related infrastructure to determine repair needs; PSGRC President Neil Collins said the Town Hall discussions will focus on the U.S. 41/Corkscrew Road intersection and that the study will include the west side of Corkscrew Road.
Separately, Mr. Schultz said the CDD will participate in the Pelican Sound Community Safeguard Panel: Mr. Merrill will represent the CDD on Objective 2 (safeguarding the community from natural disasters) and Mr. Twombly will represent the CDD on Objective 4 (improving street safety). Mr. Long said he circulated a seven-objective Action Plan and will report on the panel’s first meeting, scheduled for December.
