CDD files Lee County NPDES annual report with county approval ahead of FDEP deadline

Johnson Engineering presented the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report; Lee County approved the report and it will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection before the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline. Staff noted potential future changes in sampling requirements.
Mr. Mark Zordan presented the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report and said Lee County reviewed and approved it; the report will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in advance of the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline.
Mr. Zordan noted that a new permit is anticipated in the fall but the District has not received a release date, so staff were instructed to continue into Year 8. The Board and staff discussed water-sampling requirements that might change in future permit cycles; Johnson Engineering attends bi-monthly Lee County NPDES meetings to keep District Manager and staff apprised of developments.
