As part of the district’s traffic-calming plan, staff presented AV-Tech (TrafficLogix) estimates to install three remaining 15" solar-powered digital speed radar signs and an optional mobile unit. The board discussed installation locations, estimated costs and the district’s $150,000 budgeted amount for traffic calming.
Mr. Long said the existing device had recorded "800 varied speeding violations over a three week period," supporting the need for additional signs. On a motion by Bob Schultz, seconded by Kurt Blumenthal, the board unanimously approved AV-Tech Estimates 24150 and 24151 to install three permanent and one mobile 15" solar-powered digital speed signs with cameras and messaging and to pay $1,500 per cloud traffic device per year, for a combined total of $105,000.
